Biography
Singer songwriter Olwen
Ringrose was born and brought up in Sussex. The daughter of a flute
teacher, music was a huge part of her childhood. She started piano at
the age of five and has sung since before she can remember! She enjoyed
a classical musical training, singing in choirs and playing violin in
orchestras throughout her teenage years.
Olwen's first experience in a recording studio was in 1995, when she
sang backing vocals on a church praise and worship album and after
several other church projects she finally decided it was time to record
her own songs. In 2004 she linked with producer Mark Edwards and
recorded 'Live at the Chapel Royal', working with some of the UK's top
christian session musicians. Some have said that it was brave to do her
first album as a live recording, but Olwen's never been one to pass up
a challenge!
Following the success of 'Live at the Chapel Royal', Olwen's follow up
studio album 'Daughter of the King' was released in 2006.
Olwen has been involved in many
overseas missions, which have given her the opportunity to sing and
share God's word in Slovenia, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Israel, India,
Sri Lanka and in front of an open air crowd of 1500 in Ukraine (singing
in Russian!). Her ability to captivate an audience with her beautiful
voice has won her friends in many nations and her songs touch hearts
wherever she goes.
